Longitudinal Epidemiological Survey on TB

Abstract
|
|
|
The five year planned community survey for the longitudinal epidemiological study on
TB was initiated in 1968 in 10 areas in order to get an idea of epidemiological changes
in the country.
1. The coverage of tuberculin testing, x-ray examination and bacteriological
examination were 80.6, 94.1, and 97.1%, respectively.
2. The positive rate of tuberculin reaction was 58.1%, among examinees without old
BCG scar.
3. Active cases by radiological findings was 4.0% among examinees.
4. The Prevalence rate of bacteriologically Positive cases was 0.6% among examinees.
